In Potrero the sunshine is abundant and daytime temperatures are consistently in the 80's to 90's. From November to April there is practically no rain, and cooler winds from the north make the evenings at the beach pleasant for sleeping.

The dry season usually lasts longer here than elsewhere in Costa Rica. The area usually averages less than 65 inches of rain, primarily during the green season, from May to October. In fact, most of the rain can occur during 3-4 days usually in mid October.
